Trump's move to send the California National Guard to Los Angeles has sharply escalated tensions between the government and the Golden State.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta says the state’s sovereignty was “trampled” by President Donald Trump when he ordered National Guard troops to the immigration protests in Los Angeles. Bonta announced plans Monday to sue the Trump administration.

California leaders said yesterday that they would file a lawsuit against President Trump for deploying National Guard troops to Los Angeles as part of a crackdown on immigration. The lawsuit will argue that Trump’s order to the National Guard was illegal because he bypassed the governor of California, Gavin Newsom.
