Arizona, Michigan stay 1-2 in AP Top 25 men's poll; No. 15 Nebraska hits highest mark since 1991
No. 1 Arizona and No. 2 Michigan remained locked in place atop The Associated Press men's college basketball poll released Monday while No. 15 Nebraska jumped to its highest Top 25 ranking in nearly 35 years.

The Wildcats added to one of the best résumés in the country by defeating Alabama 96-75. Arizona boasts five ranked wins: Florida, UCLA, UConn, Alabama and Auburn. Michigan received the second-most first-place votes (15) after defeating Villanova and Maryland. Duke, another team that challenged for the No. 1 spot, was idle.

The rout kept the Huskies unbeaten and in the top spot in the Associated Press poll released Monday. UConn received 24 of 32 first-place votes, a gain of one from a week ago, and 992 points. Fellow unbeaten Texas, which walloped Baylor 89-54 in Forth Worth Sunday, got the remaining eight first-place votes and totaled 976 points to stay at No. 2.
