The Philadelphia Phillies announced Saturday that they placed first baseman Bryce Harper on the 10-day injured list.

Harper’s wrist problem wasn’t revealed until Friday, although manager Rob Thomson said it has lingered “for a while.” To fill Harper's spot, utility man Otto Kemp was added to the roster.

Bryce Harper was placed on the 10-day IL Saturday morning, retroactive to Friday, June 6th, with right wrist inflammation. Harper previously missed five games after being hit in his right elbow. After returning for three in Toronto, where he went 1-for-11 with five strikeouts, he again sat out for the opening game in Pittsburgh.
