Seiya Suzuki was one Chicago Cubs player in the rumor mill all off-season. The 30 year old was reportedly unhappy with being moved to more of a permanent designated hitter, despite having his fair share of defensive blunders over the past three seasons.

In his first comments of the spring, Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Tuesday that the Cubs did not consider their roster a finished product, heavily implying that his team could still use a guy like Bregman. “No, we’re not done,” Counsell said, per Patrick Mooney of The Athletic. “I don’t think you ever consider yourself done building a roster."

Kyle Tucker has played on the October stage in each of the past six seasons, including running down the final out of the Astros’ World Series triumph over the Phillies three years ago. The new Cubs star plans on continuing his postseason streak with his new ballclub.

A playoff mentality is already being practiced at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, as the Cubs seek to get back to the postseason for the first time since 2020.
