Sixty-seven people are believed to have died after a passenger plane hit a military helicopter in mid-air near Washington DC's Ronald Reagan airport on Wednesday evening.

A regional jet crashed into a US Army helicopter, killing 67 people in the deadliest US air disaster in more than 20 years. The DC Fire and EMS Department said that 41 bodies have so far been recovered from the wreckage of the plane crash in the Potomac River.

I don’t know of any other accident that has had this amount of impact on aviation but also in other industries,” one expert said of the 1982 crash.
