England captain Ben Stokes retired hurt with cramp as his team dominated day 3 of the fourth cricket test against India on Friday, but he soon returned as wickets fell. Stokes was 66 not out in the evening session at Old Trafford with England leading by 133 runs.

Liam Dawson, Brydon Carse and Jofra Archer have also been left out, while Jacob Bethell is among four additions for the Oval Test.

England had the victory in sight at The Oval but Indian bowlers delivered a clutch performance to snitch the victory from the grip of the hosts. India won the match by six runs.
