The Giants designated offensive guard Evan Neal to return from injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday. It opens his 21-day practice window. Neal was not expected to return this season after the Giants placed him on IR with a hamstring injury on Nov. 15.

It has been well over a month since Russell Wilson last saw action for the New York Giants. After opening the season as the team’s starting quarterback, the 10-time Pro Bowler has been relegated to a role as a third-stringer behind rookie QB Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston.

Ahead of this Week 16 matchup, the Giants are making a shocking move by designating lineman Evan Neal to return from the injured reserve.
