Two dead hikers found by park staff in the Isle Royale National Park have authorities still searching for answers.

Two people were found dead at Isle Royale National Park in a "remote backcountry campground" within the park, according to the National Park Service. The Isle Royal National Park is a remote island wilderness in the middle of Lake Superior in Michigan.

Isle Royale National Park is a park that consists of a large island surrounded by more than 450 smaller islands, preserving 132,018 acres of wilderness on 850 square miles. Opportunities for backpacking, hiking, boating, paddling, diving and more, are available on the park, the National Park Service says.
