Dozens of people have lined América Yamilet Sánchez’s street overnight holding white roses and their cell phones to illuminate the way to her house for the hearse carrying her body.

The Mexican ship which crashed into New York's Brooklyn Bridge over the weekend did not make distress calls before ramming into the bridge, the head of Mexico's navy said on Tuesday, but rather called for support.

The ship ARM Cuauhtémoc — with 277 people on board, including 175 naval cadets — was on a good-will tour throughout the world.
