That was at least six years past his sell-by date: In his final six seasons in Miami, Haslem played only 65 games.
ESPN draft analyst Jeremy Woo said “Traore would amount to a big swing if he falls to this spot. Some scouts view him as a lottery-worthy talent, but an inconsistent season in France has put a damper on his draft stock. His size and speed, playmaking ability and promise as a shooter offer obvious upside if he can put everything together.”
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes Kevin Durant would be the ideal addition to Miami’s roster. The future Hall of Fame forward is expected to leave the Phoenix Suns this summer.
Wade played alongside Udonis Haslem in all his NBA title runs with Miami. While Wade also had NBA stints with the Bulls and Cavaliers, Haslem dedicated his entire NBA career to Miami. In recognition of his contribution to the franchise, the Heat officially retired the No. 40 jersey worn by Haslem.
This will be at least the Heat’s fourth pursuit of Durant during the past decade. Miami tried to land him in 2016 free agency, then tried to acquire him in 2022 (when he requested a trade from Brooklyn; he wasn’t traded until eight months later, to Phoenix) and then made an offer for him before this past February’s trade deadline.
