The National Hurricane Center will be keeping an eye on the southern Gulf this weekend, but there is only a low chance of a tropical storm forming. The hurricane center on Friday highlighted an area of interest that will move into the Bay of Campeche in the coming days.

No tropical activity is expected over the next seven days, although the National Hurricane Center is tracking four tropical waves.

The colors make it visibly clear how likely a system could develop, with yellow being low, orange medium, and red high. The National Hurricane Center generally doesn't issue tropical advisories until there is a named storm, but there is an exception.
