During the 2024 season, the New York Jets had the oldest player in the NFL in Aaron Rodgers, and although he's no longer on the roster, the Jets will likely be going into the upcoming season with the second-oldest player in the NFL after signing Nick Folk on Tuesday.

The Jets just signed the guy who led the NFL in field goal percentage the past two years. That would be the same kicker the Patriots once traded away.

The New York Jets signed one of the oldest active players in the NFL, as the team announced Tuesday it agreed to terms with 40-year-old kicker Nick Folk. This news came just hours after the Jets waived kicker Caden Davis.

Folk has appeared in 242 games over 17 seasons with five teams, including the Jets from 2010 through 2016. He led the NFL in field-goal accuracy in each of the past two seasons with the Tennessee Titans: 96.

Looking to upgrade their kicking situation, the New York Jets turned to a familiar face Tuesday, re-signing well-traveled free agent Nick Folk. Folk was the Jets' kicker from 2010 to 2016, earning the nickname "Folk Hero" from former coach Rex Ryan during New York's playoff run in 2010 -- their last postseason appearance.
