Fort Worth's March of Dissent rallied families to protest authoritarianism, promote immigrant rights, and teach civics to future generations in a peaceful way.

The rally drew an estimated 1,500 to 2,000 protesters to Burk Burnett Park for an event that stayed mostly free of conflict.

Hundreds gathered in Denton and Fort Worth Saturday morning, joining other cities to push back against a perceived overstep of presidential power.

As part of a nationwide movement in 1,600 cities so far, resistance to the White House’s inhumane undocumented immigration policy, an expensive military parade, and volatile recent economic moves will culminate locally with a rally at noon at Burk Burnett Park (501 W 7th St) downtown.

At least 1,500 "No Kings" protests nationwide were being held Saturday, the same day as President Donald Trump's large-scale military parade in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the U.S. Army and his 79th birthday.
