At least 20 people have been killed and 52 more are injured in a “terrorist attack” on a church in the Syrian capital on Sunday, according to the country’s health ministry.

Witnesses said the perpetrator had his face covered when he began shooting - and blew himself up as crowds attempted to remove him from the building.

State media says a suicide bomber in Syria attacked a church filled with people near Damascus, the capital, killing at least 22 people and wounding 63.
