DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Israel hit Iranian government targets in Tehran on Monday in a series of strikes that followed a salvo of missiles and drones fired by Iran at Israel in the wake of the Trump administration’s massive strikes on Iranian nuclear sites the day before.

On Tuesday, the Israeli defence minister accused Iran of breaking a ceasefire deal and announced that the military would retaliate, shortly after Iran fired two missiles into Israel— apparently violating the fragile ceasefire that had taken hold just hours earlier.

Israel says it shot down an incoming Iranian missile, hours after agreeing to the deal brokered by Donald Trump and Qatar.
