The number of women in Texas who died while pregnant, during labor or soon after childbirth skyrocketed after the state’s ban on abortion care, a new analysis finds.

Tens of thousands of Texans have traveled out of state for abortions since the state's ban took effect — more than from any other state, due to Texas' large population and the restrictiveness of the law.

The procedure is already illegal here. Now extremists entering the Legislature want to make it a felony for patients, punishable by death.
