Bookies have updated the odds to win the college football national championship after the reveal of the Coaches Poll top 25 preseason rankings.

For the first time in history, Texas football is ranked No. 1 in one of the major preseason polls. The Longhorns sit atop the Preseason Coaches Poll, edging out reigning national champion Ohio State for the No. 1 spot.

Either Ohio State or Texas will be ranked as the No. 1 team in the country, with the other slotting behind at No. 2. Renowned college football insider Phil Steele believes that Ohio State will be No. 1 and Texas will be No. 2, while ESPN’s Bill Connelly believes the opposite will be true.
