NEW YORK CITY, New York — Red Lobster is preparing to shutter its longtime flagship restaurant in New York City’s Times Square, bringing an end to more than two decades in one of the world’s most heavily trafficked tourist destinations.

Some are calling it the end of an era as the Red Lobster in Times Square says it will be shutting down. Prolonged construction near the building impacted restaurant access and foot traffic, the company said.
