An American citizen held hostage by Hamas for approximately 15 months has released a video detailing his experiences while imprisoned, in which he thanks President Donald Trump for his role in securing his release.

Mr. Trump made the comments about the hostages while signing executive orders on Monday at the White House. He spoke hours after Hamas said it was delaying the next release of hostages, which was scheduled for Saturday, as a spokesman accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement, including by targeting Palestinians in Gaza with airstrikes.

Hamas says it will release three hostages on Saturday, resolving a dispute with Israel that threatened to derail the ceasefire. In exchange, Israel will free dozens of Palestinians from jail.
