A man says it was like a nightmare when he woke up and found smoke seeping into his apartment in Union City. His building at the Evergreen Commons apartments caught fire at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, sending tenants running to safety.

UNION CITY, Ga. - Firefighters responded to a large fire at an apartment complex in Union City late Tuesday morning. What we know SkyFOX 5 flew over the scene and was able to see flames, smoke and multiple firefighters on the scene.

An apartment building in Union City suffered major damage when it caught fire on Tuesday morning. Crews were called to the Evergreen Commons apartments on Hwy. 138. NewsChopper 2 flew over the area and found the top floor of the building destroyed.

No one was injured.
