The Senate has reopened as it tries to sprint ahead on President Donald Trump’s big bill of tax breaks and spending cuts after weekend setbacks.

While Sen. Susan Collins is among a handful of Republican holdouts, Sen. Angus King, an independent who caucuses with Democrats, has been a vocal opponent of the bill, which would extend tax cuts, slash funding for health insurance and food assistance and roll back clean energy incentives.
