Bayern Munich’s Club World Cup campaign kicks off on Sunday evening as they face New Zealand minnows Auckland City in Cincinnati. Only two clubs have won this competition more than Bayern, and Vincent Kompany’s side rank among the favorites to go all the way in the United States this summer.

Vincent Kompany admitted his Bayern Munich side simply “did their job” in brushing aside part-timers Auckland City in the Club World Cup this afternoon. Bayern won 10-0 in Cincinnati in a game that did little to silence critics of the expanded competition.

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich started their Club World Cup by recording the biggest ever win in tournament history against Auckland City. Jamal Musiala scored a hat-trick whilst Thomas Muller scored twice in his final tournament for Vincent Kompany’s side before he leaves the club later this summer as they ran out 10-0 winners.
