The Dragon Bravo Fire, initially managed as a controlled burn by the National Park Service, destroyed the Grand Canyon's North Rim visitor hub, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge.

The lodge itself told a key part of history for both the Grand Canyon and the National Park Service.

"The National Park Service and our interagency partners actively fought the Dragon Bravo fire employing tactics that met the suppression objectives and mitigated risk," Pawlitz said.
