Wout van Aert was the only rider on the final day of the Tour de France who was able to drop Tadej Pogacar during the three-week race in France. The Belgian from Visma | Lease a Bike pulled away from the Slovenian yellow jersey wearer on the final climb to Montmartre and won the final stage in style.

A fourth Tour de France title was all but won anyway, so finishing safely in the pack would do fine for Tadej Pogačar.
