Buc-ee's has withdrawn its bid for an annexation request to open a second location in Colorado. The proposed spot for the 74,000-square foot location is off I-25 and County Line in El Paso County. The developer for the mega convenience store has withdrawn the annexation request for the Town of Palmer Lake,

The annexation application for a proposed Buc-ee’s in Palmer Lake was withdrawn earlier this month. But as those plans potentially come to a close, another southern Colorado community said it is open to the idea of being home to the state’s second Buc-ee’s.

For now, plans to build a second Buc-ee’s in Colorado are on hold after an application to annex the land to the town of Palmer Lake was withdrawn. But a new application is expected. The proposal to locate one of Buc-ee’s mega convenience stores and gas stations near the El Paso County community has spawned opposition from area residents.
