NFL playoffs: Who Detroit Lions fans should be rooting for
This should be a relative no-brainer for Lions fans, but I just cannot root for a division rival in the playoffs. Not to mention the viewing frustration of a team that regularly plays terrible football for three quarters and somehow pulls themselves out of it every time. They just can’t keep getting away with it.
Less than two weeks after the Detroit Lions let him go as offensive coordinator, John Morton has joined another NFL team he already knows well. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Morton joined the Denver Broncos earlier this week as a postseason consultant.
Earlier this week, former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator John Morton was spotted in Denver working with a Broncos team that was preparing to face the Buffalo Bills. On Saturday morning, ESPN reported that Morton, who spent o ne season in Motown before being dismissed, was hired as a consultant by Sean Payton for the remainder of the playoffs.
In a thinned-out AFC field, the Bills had a chance to rise above the pack. But Josh Allen and Co. squandered a major opportunity Saturday.
Matt Prater delivered a big field goal in the fourth quarter to force overtime during the Bills' playoff game against the Broncos.
If the Denver Broncos want to secure a victory against the Buffalo Bills, these three players need to perform well.
