CASSOPOLIS, Mich. (WSBT) — In light of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a church in Cassopolis honored him with a special service on Sunday. The United Presbyterian Church had singing, prayers, scripture, and students read essays or poems they had written on a positive influential person.
The distribution will take place from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot at 940 E. Genesee Ave. on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The soup kitchen is partnering with Hidden Harvest, HELP, and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan for the event.
Martin Luther King Jr. and Thich Nhat Hanh shared a vision of ‘beloved community’ that shows how democracy begins not with power, but with how we live together.
