Settling into the offseason at the conclusion of Super Bowl LIX, the Minnesota Vikings need to figure out exactly what they plan to do with Sam Darnold. Too good to let loose on the market, not good enough to sign to an expensive long-term deal,

If Minnesota makes the wrong choice on Darnold's future, it could haunt the franchise for a generation. GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has a few options. He can tag Darnold, let him walk, or re-sign him to a long-term contract in the Baker Mayfield vein.

"Most likely, Minnesota will choose to [franchise] tag Darnold or allow him to hit the market, and things could go either way," Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report wrote on Saturday, Feb. 8.
