The Leonid meteor showers are among the night skies' most spectacular. Here's where to look and how to best see the spectacle.

Space.com stated on its website that the best way to see the Leonid meteor shower is to go to the "darkest possible location, and wait about 30 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dark." The website noted that you don't need a telescope or a pair of binoculars to see the meteors.

The Taurid meteor will make its annual appearance in the midnight sky starting Tuesday through Nov. 12, with the "shooting star" appearing best after in the early morning hours.
