With less than 48 hours until the NHL trade deadline, fewer players remain available than at the start of the week. Some of the targets the Toronto Maple Leafs were after have either signed new contracts or were traded to other teams.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been linked to Scott Laughton ahead of the trade deadline, and now we know this is not the first time they have pursued the Flyers forward. According to The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta, Toronto was close to acquiring Laughton two years ago at the NHL Draft before ultimately deciding against the deal.

With the NHL trade deadline set for tomorrow at 3 p.m. EST, the Toronto Maple Leafs just might have a trick or two up their sleeve.
