COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s standing in the AP Top 25 now mirrors its spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Buckeyes moved up from No. 3 to No. 2 in the AP poll after their win vs. Purdue on Saturday. Ohio State jumped Georgia and only sits behind top-ranked Oregon.

Ohio State got its first shutout in Big Ten play since 2017 while holding Purdue to only 206 yards. Ohio State quarterback Will Howard completed 21 of 26 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score in just over three quarters of play.

As does any Ohio State fan, we love a good laugh at the expense of the Team Up North. The Ohio State Marching Band always puts on an excellent halftime show, but they may have outdone themselves once again.

Jeremiah Smith has made it a record-setting day against Purdue as the Ohio State receiver now has more catches than any other true freshman in Ohio State football history. On third and 17, Smith hauled in a catch from quarterback Will Howard that was initially ruled a 17-yard gain and a first down.
