The full YouTube Premium plan offers you ad-free watching and listening on YouTube videos, music and listening. The Lite version lets you watch most videos ad-free, except for music videos. Additionally, you can't play videos offline or in the background with the Lite plan.

YouTube has introduced a new subscription tier called Premium Lite, which aims to enhance the viewing experience for its users. Announced on Wednesday, the subscription offers an ad-free experience on most videos for $7.

YouTube's Premium Lite pilot program is expanding to the U.S. nearly four years after the Google-owned streamer began testing the pilot service in Europe. With this rollout, YouTube says it is testing out the option for US users after offering Premium Lite in Germany, Thailand and Australia.
