The route was being flown with a 2003 Bombardier CRJ-200LR, registration N920EV and MSN 7810, first delivered to Southeast Atlantic Airlines in 2003. The aircraft was en route to Houston when it was hit by severe turbulence, and with five passengers injured, the crew diverted to Waco, Texas.
