The Chicago Bears hired Dennis Allen to serve as Ben Johnson's defensive coordinator in a move that brings instant credibility to the coaching staff.

“Just facing the offense, the creativity of the offense, the way that he’s able to utilize all of his assets and get them in the best position to have success, I was always really intrigued with how he was able to do that,” Allen said.

Rizzi, 54, brings familiarity with Payton and experience. He has served as a special teams boss for the past 14 seasons with the Miami Dolphins and Saints.
