Parents at Herrera Elementary are questioning why they are being charged $1 for every minute they are late to picking up their child from class.

TxDOT says winter weather operations are in full swing from North Texas to the Panhandle as crews work to clear the roadways. TxDOT also has a statewide map that shows road conditions are a mess in areas slammed by the wintry weather.

The timeframe would be Thursday morning into Friday with snow and ice being the main concern for areas north of Houston.
