It was another ugly night for the Sabres, who were taken to task by frustrated head coach Lindy Ruff after their loss to the Sharks.

San Jose has won two in a row after dropping eight straight. Eklund's 46 points passed his career high of 45, which he set last season in 80 games. Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith, Nico Sturm, Timothy Liljegren, and Tyler Toffoli scored for San Jose. Alexander Georgiev made 20 saves for his second win in as many days.
