The Raiders were finally able to officially release him once the new league year started but he wasn’t in free agency long. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Minshew has signed a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Las Vegas Raiders struggled to have success on offense last season in large part due to sub-par quarterback play. Veteran signal-caller Gardner Minshew was brought in last offseason to compete with second-year player Aidan O'Connell, but both proved to be unworthy of a starting job in the NFL.

After bringing in quarterback Gardner Minshew, the Chiefs are also bringing back a familiar face to their QBs room.

After one season with the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Bailey Zappe is heading back to the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the second quarterback who was in the room in 2024 to depart from the roster this offseason.
