U.S. Central Command announced on Saturday that it had killed a senior military leader of an Al-Qaeda affiliate known as Hurras al-Din in an airstrike in Syria.

The attack was one of several in just over a week targeting top officials and organizers for the al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria.

A US airstrike in Northwest Syria killed Muhammed Yusuf Ziya Talay, a senior leader of the Al-Qaeda affiliate Hurras al-Din, on February 23.

The US military carried out an operation in Syria, during which a senior military leader of the jihadist group Hurras al-Din ("HaD"), which is affiliated with the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, was eliminated.
