The Red Sox signed Alex Bregman to a three year, $120MM contract this offseason. In reality, it's a series of one year deals at $40MM per year. Bregman has the opportunity to opt out at the end of this season and it's highly likely that he will. That is, unless he signs an extension with the Red Sox. Here's what Bowden wrote:

According to former MLB executive Jim Bowden, the M's could acquire Bregman if he's not extended by the Boston Red Sox.
