The Abbotsford Canucks won the Calder Cup for the first time in their history by defeating the Charlotte Checkers 3-2 in Game 6 of the Finals at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Monday.

Charlotte took a 2-0 lead in Game 6 of the Calder Cup finals before Abbotsford scored three goals to win the game, and series, Monday night at Bojangles Coliseum.

Words can be hard to come by for players on a team that just won their first championship in franchise history. However, that wasn’t the case for the 2025 Calder Cup champion Abbotsford Canucks, who took down the Charlotte Checkers in six games to win the title after five gruelling playoff rounds.
