A moisture plume from near Hawaii is set to bring heavy rain, flooding and avalanche risks to British Columbia, Washington and southeastern Alaska, raising concerns after recent flooding events and excessive snowfall.
The storm system is expected to cause flooding along the Skokomish River, and dramatically raise snow levels in the mountains.
Saturday will be the main event. Rain develops and gets heavy at times into the afternoon and evening. It will be cooler, with highs in the mid-40s. Roads could get slick, and with some downpours around, ponding on roadways and localized flooding is possible—so keep an eye on conditions.
Rain is expected to start on Friday afternoon across New Jersey. After the rain ends Sunday, strong winds gusting up to 40 mph are possible.
Rain is expected to move into North Jersey this afternoon, bringing steady precipitation and wet roadways through the evening.
