A Kremlin official says he expects an announcement next week on dates for a fresh round of direct peace talks.

(Reuters) -Waves of Russian drones and missiles struck districts across the Ukrainian capital Kyiv early on Tuesday, damaging an apartment building, sparking fires and injuring up to 16 people, city officials said.

It was the deadliest attack on the Ukrainian capital in almost a year, and came as Moscow has intensified air assaults on the city.
