Gabriel Vera has been charged with first degree arson in connection with a wind-driven fire at a home, said Hines, who is also the Snyder fire marshal. Vera was still being held Monday in Scurry County Jail. The incident is still under investigation, state and local officials said.

Chicago police are investigating after a man was found dead after a house fire Friday night in the North Lawndale neighborhood. The fire is being investigated as a possible arson. It happened just before 9 p.m. in the 2300 block of South Kirkland Avenue.
