Center Connor McDavid won nine of his 16 faceoffs and tallied one assist, one takeaway and a key shot block in the third period that helped seal the game. Defenseman Evan Bouchard chipped in with two assists and three blocked shots as the Oilers suffocated the Stars down the stretch.

The Edmonton Oilers are coming home with the Western Conference Final tied at one game apiece. The Oilers shut out the Dallas Stars 3-0 in Game 2 on Friday.

The Stars began Game 2 on Friday with a starting five of Mikko Rantanen, Roope Hintz, Mikael Granlund, Miro Heiskanen and Esa Lindell, all of whom are Finnish-born players. According to the Stars’ social media account, it’s the first time since the NHL began tracking starters that a team put out five Finns to begin a game.
