It’s been a remarkable season for the Longhorns, but it’s still nowhere close to the best in program history. That distinction belongs to the 1985–86 Longhorns, who became the first women’s team to finish the season as undefeated national champions.

The Longhorns closed out the season Sunday in Moody Center with a 72-46 win over the Florida Gators. The game concluded with the team watching co-SEC conference champions South Carolina finish off Kentucky and the coin toss that put Texas as a No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
