Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont and key legislative leaders have reached a deal to allocate millions of dollars in emergency funding for special education and nonprofits. The House and Senate are expected to vote on it on Wednesday.

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont says he'll veto $40 million overwhelmingly approved last week as a supplement for towns and cities to spend on special ed.

The compromise calls for legislative leaders to shelve override votes and instead pass two new bills that that would go forward.

Lawmakers approved $43 million for local school districts and nonprofits last week. Wednesday's revote comes after Gov. Ned Lamont vetoed the original package.
