The club announced they signed defenseman Mason Lohrei to a two-year extension worth an annual cap hit of $3.2 million. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Lohrei was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on July 1. He will still be an RFA when the deal is up.

Mason Lohrei, whose growing pains on the Bruins’ blue line last season resulted in a league-worst minus-43 rating, on Monday cashed in way on the plus side with a two-year contract extension that will pay the 24-year-old an average of $3.2 million per season
