Aaron Rodgers has essentially built the team around him since he entered the New York Jets’ organization in 2023, and the team has added pieces in the offseason and during the 2024 season that should have benefitted the quarterback and the team in general.

After the victory and celebrations, Williams continued his fun on social media with a post. It appeared his message was aimed at Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Williams signed with the Jets this offseason after a serious injury in 2023. That held him back, then he really fell out of favor in New York when Rodgers was critical of him.

More recently, the team traded for six-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams, another old friend who's still skilled, but past his prime. This was after firing head coach Robert Saleh and demoting Hackett, moves that clubs typically make once they're out of playoff contention. The Jets, though, hoped that these moves would create a spark.
