Arráez, who had a streak of 141 plate appearances without a strikeout last year, saw his current streak snapped Sunday by Royals pitcher Seth Lugo. Lugo got the strikeout on a pitch so nasty it literally made Arráez say wow. This pitch moved nearly 1 1/2 feet and cameras caught Arráez’s reaction.

Salvador Perez got the Royals on the board first with a two-run blast to left center field in the top of the sixth inning. The Padres tied the game in the seventh after second baseman Jose Iglesias hit A line drive single to drive in two runs.
