Hazelight Studios’ sci-fi fantasy adrenaline rush “Split Fiction” is the most ambitious project yet for Josef Fares, director of inventive co-op games.

Split Fiction is an obligate co-op game. For this review, my husband Travis and I hopped between Mio’s futuristic cities and Zoe’s fantastical kingdoms like walking through the cars of a passenger train. In each section, we got a new set of powers designed to work only in that particular world.

Hazelight has created another brilliant adventure that's going straight into our best co-op games list. Split Fiction is quite the opposite of industry trends right now; amidst everything, it's a bastion of ingenuity and gives me hope that creativity isn't quite as in danger as I feared.

The reason the Gameshow is so difficult is due to the impeccable timing and precision aiming needed by both players throughout. Of all the side stories in Split Fiction, this is the one most likely to test friendships or result in one person being forced to sleep on the couch.
